Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a coming of age movie based on Cameron Crowe’s undercover analysis of real teenage life in an american high school.
The story follows the lives, loves and sexual misadventures of a group of teenagers through one school year at Ridgemont High. The group include Stacy and her older friend Linda, and Mark and his older friend Mike, both friendships being characterized by the older friend believing themselves to be the more experienced in the ways of love and romance as the younger friend has experiences for the first time. Together with Brad’s career adventures and surfer dude stoner Jeff Spicoli’s problems with authority figures, the movie makes for a funny and fresh ride in the world through teenagers’ eyes.
The screenplay is adapted from Cameron Crowe’s book which he researched by going undercover at an American high school.
