Movie Synopsis:
An Italian soldier in Ethiopia has serious toothache and decides to set off in search of medical help at the nearest camp hospital. After the vehicle has an accident and is unable to continue, Enrico decides to walk the rest of the way. On his journey, with only painkillers to help with his excruciating tooth pain, he meets a young Ethiopian woman, who he rapes but ends up having feelings for, and later accidently wounds and kills when he shoots at something startling them in their resting place when the bullet ricochets off the cave wall.
When he finally reaches camp for treatment he is riddled with guilt and pain. He convinces himself he has leprosy and tries to escape Ethiopia to return to his wife in Italy.
